The Keystone Garden features 4 keystone plants that serve hundreds of species tied in with powerful pollinators such as Mountain Mint, Coneflower, Beardtongue, and Purple Lovegrass.  The show begins in May with Beardtongues white flowers standing tall above newly emerging plants.  As June settles in and the Beardtongue blooms fade, the garden truly wakes up with summer long display of blooms from the Coneflowers, Black-Eyed Susan, Lanceleaf Coreopsis, and Mountain Mint.  Purple Lovegrass loves the heat and sun and will only become more spectacular each day of the growing season.  As the temps cool down and days shorten,  the summer blooms become sparse and the grand finale of the aster/goldenrod companionship lights up the garden for one last show before the winter settles in.
